2013\05\30 - Good day - was reasonably busy all the time but felt ok - seemed to fade a bit after 13:00 - went for a walk of 4km in the afternoon - felt ok during and after the exercise.
(Weighed myself - 86kg, 23.7% fat)
Haemochromatosis is a genetic condition which causes the body to accumulate excess iron. Iron is vital to the efficient functioning of the body but excess iron can damage vital organs. Early symptoms of iron overload such as fatigue (in 70%), joint pain (40%) and abdominal pain (40%) are non-specific and are commonly not recognised as associated with Haemochromatosis. Detection is through monitoring of iron levels in the blood. Treatment is regular blood donations.

2013\05\28 - Poor day - Not a very good day today. By about 13:30 I was not able to concentrate properly anymore. I even asked Steve (my boss) to take some work off of me.
I skipped Adventure Racing club evening for the first time I can remember - I just did not feel up to going all the way there.
Today I posted my face book status as "I seem to miss something the most, when I don't think I will be able to have it again.". The idea of possibly not getting back to being able to do Adventure Racing is rather depressing.

On the 16th of May 2013 I was diagnosed with Haemochromatosis.
To help me understand my condition and the way I react to it, and the way I react to the treatment I have decided to create this blog as a diary. Day by day I will update how I feel, what I have done and the results thereof.
My goal will be to get back to doing the sport of my choice, without having to struggle through each bit of the race. (Adventure Racing)
My last Ferritin tests are dated 2013/04/25, my S-Ferritin level was 834 ug/mL and my S-% Saturation was 56%
